Limit Order
An order to buy or sell cryptocurrency at a specific price or better.
Explained Simply
A limit order lets you set the exact price at which you want to buy or sell. A buy limit order executes at your price or lower; a sell limit order executes at your price or higher. Unlike market orders which execute instantly at the current price, limit orders may not fill if the market does not reach your price. Limit orders typically have lower fees on exchanges and give you price control. They are essential for trading larger amounts where slippage matters.
Example
If Bitcoin is at $90,000, you place a buy limit order at $85,000. The order only fills if Bitcoin drops to $85,000 or below.
